Life in Boynton Beach Combines the Best of Suburban Living with Big City Offerings

Boynton Beach enjoys the greater Miami metropolitan area's benefits, but like most of Palm Beach County, it adds its flavor to it. The city owes its name to Nathan Boynton's vision, who first arrived in the area in 1894, before the arrival of the railroad. From Michigan, Boynton couldn’t help but be impressed by the sunshine and beauty that surrounded him, so he proceeded to build the Boynton Hotel. Many of the early settlers also hailed from Michigan and thoroughly enjoyed the fruits and vegetables that grew so easily in the Sunshine State.  Boynton Beach owes much of its growth to the Seaboard Air Line Railway and the trade it made possible.

The area itself became the primary milk supplier for the surrounding county until the 1970s when housing developments took over farming lands. Today, the city continues to grow and enjoy its connection with nature. Most notably, Boynton Beach Oceanfront Park, close to where the Boynton Hotel used to be, provides entertainment and recreation to visitors and residents of all ages. The Park is a short bike ride from downtown or a 20-minute walk.

Palm Beach is increasingly a destination for businesses, especially given the opportunities provided to small and medium-sized enterprises. Housing options abound, and Boynton Beach is accessible thanks to its proximity to several airports and access via terrestrial transit. Most of its economy centers around healthcare, retail, and hospitality and is within the South Florida market share, representing about 6.5 million people. Housing is among the most affordable in the area, and its population is quite diverse.

Visitors to Boynton Beach can experience the Florida charm by merely walking down to one-of-a-kind restaurants and shops and rejoicing in the smell of the ocean and the warm breeze.

The area is also growing in relevance for the brewing industry, and craft breweries offer unique flavors to those who visit. Some of the most famous local breweries include-

  • Twisted Trunk Brewing in Palm Beach Gardens
  • West Palm Beach Brewery & Wine Vault in downtown West Palm Beach
  • Due South Brewing in Boynton Beach

If your palate wants to visit more than one brewery, you can always explore a beer-tasting tour or visit the Ale Trail of the Palm Beaches. As much as the city has changed, it remains attractive to all who work, live, and play in it.
